I think this was a project thet Shockwave productions
was going to do but since the "Battle of Britain" fiasco it
sounds like they have cancelled all further revamp projects.

They were also going to do a revamp of the classic B-17 2
game from Microprose/Wayward, it's a shame that they didn't start
with B-17 or Mig Alley as they originally worked quite well unlike
BOB which was always a "problem child".

But Battle of Brtain & Battle of Britain 2 came out and is in stores. What happened? The one in stores is supposed to be a very good sim!

I have the original Mig Alley. It should still be available.

I have the original too, and loved it. #2 was supposed to be a major update to it, especially in the graphics dept.

It should have been, but it was released as a bug filled mess, we are now up to three patches with a fourth on the way. It has been enough of a disaster for Shockwave to prompt them to drop any intention to remake other sims and go back to producing only (very good) addons for Filght Sim/CFS, a pity.

Not the news I wanted to hear. They should have done MiG Alley first since it was mostly working. Only issue I can think of in the original involved on how you attacked bridges on bombing runs. You had to have your wingmen attack from a specific angle if you wanted them to have any chance of hitting it.

I recall that the first went down not in flames, but bugs. the second had extremely low sales numbers, at least here in Germany, and also far from bug-free. but that I only have read in forums, many months ago.

Any details on how BoB2 is going now? Like have they patched the bugs so to speak?

I'm looking for a new game or sim. This is pretty cheap now so I think I'll give it a go. Loved MiG Alley, so control is probably similar too.

2.04 is out, and runs pretty solid on my system. Great game, and I can't get MiG Alley to work on it, so...
