Custom skins for TVT

I think this subject came up once already. But not sure what the outcome was.

Does TVT use bitmap style skins like other games. IL2 for example. I have been poking about in the folders. But did not see anything.

If no. Is it possible do do our own custom paint jobs?

I'm thinking candy apple red T34 with pink tuck and roll and dingle balls.

PS Was doing the Kimokov recon mission by ZW. Lots of fun. Trecked through the woods forever and got behind three Tigers. And let loose. Was on my third round at point blank with no joy before noticing I was loading high explosive rounds. ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG Then I was dead.

The skins are .tex which can be opened in xnview (free) and saved as may things. The tex files are .dds files renamed by the creators of the game. There are templates in the /textures/lightmaps folder.
