So it was just a coincidence that one of my helmsman had the exclamation next to him? Has anyone tried letting the three dudes health go next to nothing to see what happened? :hmm:

When my guys get that tired, things get weird. The boat goes all over the place and won't maintain a heading, and maintaining depth is impossible too. They either send you on a crash course for the bottom, or pop you up in front of an escort...... who then promptly sends you on a crash course for the bottom.

I have to be honest and admit that my nautical technical terminology isn't the best.
I know Ballast tanks are usually Tauchzellen, so i just assumed it was just some tech babble for the same thing.
But i've done a google search and you're right. So thanks for the info!

From Wiki:
Quote:
Not sure how to translate it to english though, apart from ballast tank, but you're correct, not quite right.

Then the circles my sub was making could've been due to low health. Because, IIRC, my waypoints weren't at acute angles.

As for low health not having any effect, I heard the watch crew does not suffer even if they're half-dead. Though I haven't done any tests to prove this. :hmm:

If that's correct my helmsmen aren't following orders since they pin the needles during a normal dive (I believe the guages max at 30 degrees in a type VII).

Could the guages be modded to reflect the correct dive planes angles during a normal dive and crash dive?

It's a special, rather huge ballast tank below the control room which was used to speed up crash dives. It could not take a lot of pressure though, I think because it was inside the actual pressure hull. So it had to be blown again not soon after the boat was fully submerged, or else it would burst inward at a rather shallow depth. Still searching for a proper English term. Google calls it 'negative buoyancy cell' but I'm not sure about that. Some subtitles to 'Das Boot' call it 'main dive tank'.
