At 0800 yesterday I walked back down to the local auto shop and explained what had happened. Then I walked back home and spent the morning trying to stay awake after more than twenty-four hours with no sleep. At 1415 they called and said it was done. I walked back down and they said the rim was fine, the alignment is fine, and all I had to pay for was the tire and the labor.

Brought the car back home and it seems fine. Tried to get some work done but fell apart about 1600. Went straight to bed, thinking I'd be up again around midnight, but instead slept twelve hours straight through. Now it's 0500 and I feel like I'm missing a whole day. That's okay, I'm ready for this one.

Congratulations on your retirement Marcel. Then again, with grandchildren, can you ever really be " officially " retired ?

How about officially semi - retired ?

~ Enjoy ~

If you're like some, you'll soon be looking for work again because the boredom is killing you.

If you're like me you'll be whining because you still don't have enough time to do all the things you want to do, let alone relax.

Either way, best of luck.

Thanks guys. It was a tough decision because I enjoyed my job but physically and mentally I had had enough. The money was good also but money is not everything. I was more than ready.

In my second week of retirement I am going over to Halifax to build a 70 ft. fence in my sons back yard. Yea, I'll be busy.

I suspect You'll find retirement isn't! Someone else will see that fence and offer cash under the table(always a good thing) and a bottle of good vino! I 'retired' four years ago and am still quasi or semi employed; only now the boss (4 hundred miles away) is much nicer 'cause he knows I don't need the job. I rib him: thanking him for my social security stipend-now about to be diminished by part B medicare under Trump. The boss is paying in; I'm taking out!. The text message always starts with ''R U available....'' a much nicer tone than when I was simply 'rowing chained to the bench.' He knows 'sailing days' are inviolate! The big problem is: my wife is retiring in September too, after 30 years of being a DA.-totally fed-up and burned-out! Good lord! there goes my 'retirement': she'll B around all day assigning chores... alas nothing good lasts forever. PS: I've seen the god-awful snow U shovel! that's not retirement! (why I moved to CA from the MN gulag-no snow!)

I retired 4 months ago. It's great! I don't HAVE to be anywhere.

Spent most of the day doing what I like to do best on Sunday during the summer.

Watching all the motorsport I can find!

Unfortunately, today pissed me off. Raikkonen didn't get P1 at Monaco and Fernando Alonso had yet ANOTHER Honda engine problem.

Oh well.

Came back from a short holiday with the wife's BMW, suddenly a rhythmic noise from behind, suppose middle bearing of the propshaft. Came home, closed the door, glass fell into same.
We took the BMW because my VW is in the garage for repairs.

Holiday was nice though

Wondering still why I've been unable for so long now to update or add to my albums on my Profile Page... most importantly my paintings? I think I contributed a smaller sum than usual to the last Fundraiser because one of my payments didn't go through for some reason, so I ended up as an "Ace of The Deep" instead of an "Overlord". Would this be why?

Highly unlikely but Neal would have to confirm.

I no longer have an "add pictures to album" option... even when I delete some it doesn't free up any room, so it's not that I've exceeded my space allowance...
