Sorry about Harvey, I have a lot of Fred's stuff but not this one.

None of my business, however I'm a little surprised you/it wants to use gu.exe to start SH4. Gu.exe phones home looking for updates to the game and that action could mess up a modded install...... if there still are any updates/software available at Ubisoft (v1.2. v1.3, v1.4). After the 1.5 U-Boat add-on that costs $$ there are no updates.

Most people and mods like to start SH4 by changing the shortcut to start SH4 so it points directly to sh4.exe. Maybe I don't understand why this needs to start by going through gu.exe.

Wish I could be more helpful. Hope you get a usable install working!

Because I've replaced gu.exe with a different program, which hooks into the sh4 process and changes some game behavior.

Preferred path: Randomizer calls SH-AIFIX.exe which calls sh4.exe
What used to happen: Randomizer calls gu.exe which calls sh4.exe
Solution: Delete gu.exe, and rename SH-AIFIX.exe to gu.exe

I don't have an older version either. But I do still have the source code, so if you really, really want a version that points to gu.exe instead of sh4.exe, I can make you one and email it to you. PM me your address.

Sorry about Harvey. We still haven't finished recovering from the Great Flood of August 2016 here. I still don't know if my copy of SH4 was saved or not.

Awesome. PM on the way shortly. I really do appreciate it. I spent quite a bit of my downtime during the recovery reading a couple of sub books, so I've been bitten by the urge to play again.

I'm sorry to hear you've had to go through flooding, as well. It's odd, but things are slowly becoming normal around here. People near where I lived weren't affected, while the next street over from them is lined with debris from house-clearing.
