Default I got her!

Well would you believe it! Just 24 hrs after talking to Rwearjr (Rolf) about the QM, i got her!

1 am, June 22nd 1940, i'd had some success at the deep hole in AM 5364 the previous day, and so i started heading SW to move down the west coast of Ireland and hunt the south western approaches before my base was moved to Lorient.
At approx 8am we dived to have one last listen before heading into the Atlantic,
a few hours passed and then....Neuer Kontakt! Frachter, näher kommen! and
Neuer Kontakt! kriegsschiff näher kommen!

She was escorted by a lone V&W Class destroyer, and they were hauling ass at 30kts! AM 5381, on an easterly course of 94 degrees.
She would of passed me to my north at about 8km, so i moved closer at peri depth and waited.

First glimpse and perfect conditions too!

I fired 3 torps from 3km, 2 at her, and one at the destroyer.....the destroyer evaded, and the QM also began to turn to port, but she was to late.....one hit her bow, and the other amidships
She went down in 10mins.

A shot of the damage amidships.

And confirmation, jackpot!

I honestly thought i'd never see her, but i'm also a little gutted because, that's it, she's gone, never to be seen again in my game. Unless that class of ship is just super rare and there are others?

Anyway, now it's off to Lorient at the end of the month to find 'French girls and haylofts' 'Happy Times' indeed!

How come u got corruption date number as 0247-80-00?
On me before I get rid that TDW New Destroyedmark and disable it in TDW Generic Patcher, its always shown as date 0000-00-00.
But after disable that option, no more corruption date in my captain log.

Cheers Rolf lol!

Kapten Nemo, I have no idea! I only just noticed that when I read your reply.
However I do remember reading a post from THEBERBSTER about it, and apparently it doesn't cause any problems with campaign....seen it a few times.

John.

Have also noticed this date error on several of my large kills. BTW SSNorholm I haven't gotten the Queen Mary yet. Saw her again last night hugging the northern coast of Ireland on westerly heading. Once again she wasn't in a location compared to mine where an intercept course was possible at her speed. Arrrrrgh....Feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the damn football. Anywho a couple days later I see another Escort via hydrophone bringing in a large something or other. Got into attack position and it turned out to be the "Mauritania" I put 4 torpedos in her. 2 were duds, the third seemed to just sail "under?" her? Dont know what happened there as all the depths were the same on my torps. The fourth was a hit. She meandered on for about two hours before sinking. Her escort made a very short attempt to locate me and then quickly moved on. Followed her till she went down......35,000 GRT!
A much needed boost for a patrol that just wasnt going all that well. I had only 4 forward torps left, and one stern shot yet had only bagged around 19,000GRT Got shot up by a European composite freighter that I surfaced on after a dud torp because it was so dark I couldn't see her guns. Just one of those patrols were Neptune isn't smiling on ya.
Happy Hunting!

Haha yup she's fast! And it seems she frequents that area a lot then, plus its a good area in general.

Nice kill with the Mauritania!
