Last night, I leave Kiel in 08/01/39, and put heading to excercise zone. When I arrive, planes are bombing merchants. All was destroyed. I dont have any target for my training!

I arrive late to the party?

It is very possible because training mission should begin just on training area. You don't have to depart port and travel there.

Therefore I suppose you changed this mission in SH3 Mission Editior, didn't you?

I really like this aspect of the mod. I surfaced to finish off a crippled merchant and even machinegun fire caused damage to the boat. Nothing catastrophic, but it did take a while to repair. The boat also becomes a lot more difficult to maneuvre at low speed. Lots of atmosphere too.

Actually you should find some ships which are not destroyed since there are enough ships there. Otherwiese you could also go bakc to port and start a new patrol... the target ships will be there until end of august.

Well, once I experienced almost identical strange situation in GWX mod. Having accomplished training mission at Vistula Lagoon in August 1939 my U-boat was returning to Koenigsberg and suddenly she was shelled by German coastal artillery near Pillau. I was almost sunk! :rotfl:

Anyway it seems that SH3 game engine can't prevent waging real battles before 1st September 1939, whose some mods introduce as combat exercise missions...

Thx a lot for your answer, Han. Normaly I training my Fire Solutions with any traffic, but of course without fire it. I like this issue in WAC3.0

might be in gwx.. i read that also in th german forum.
but in wac 3.0 the target ships are assigned to a seperate country which is only hostile from 1.8.39 to 31.8.39 and there are no other units from this country.
the planes are ok in the target area because they also have to make target bombing due to the upcoming crysis

Great because I don't like to be sink by my own side. I tried to install WAC 3.0 Full but unfortunately my computer could not handle it. So now I test GWX 2.1 waiting for your WAC 3.0 Lite version.

I suppose you have meant that aircrafts had to make practice bombings there before war began.

Thanks for your answers one page before Guys.
Thats what i want to hear and i will try out that very promising Mod.

But the following posts leads me to another question:
3GhZ CPU 2GB Ram and the Graphic Card requirements are far above
the stock requirements.
So my question is simple: why?
My PC is a little above the requirements so the Game should run properly, but i cant understand what you guys have done to making that game such ressource hungry.
The screenshots doesnt look like an massive graphic improvement. Better than stock
in most parts but i didnt understand which part does eat that much ressources.

One question, one answer
It´s the KI in the harbours!
There will be a lite traffic version for guys who don´t like that much harbour traffic or have slower machines.
We made that much harbour traffic because it adds much immersion.
There is nothing worse than empty harbours in war time!
But also the campaign files:

Stock scr 2,58mb 1942 units
stock lnd 208kb 129 units
stock rnd 5,7mB 1726 groups


wac3.0 scr 11,1mb 10551 units 543% more units than stock
wac3.0 lnd 2,17mb 4190 units 3248% more units than stock
wac3.0 rnd 9,1mb 2667 groups 54% more groups than stock

Thanks for the answer, that explains one part of the issue.
UbiSoft and all other Game developer doesnt mind about system requirements....
Im sure if they want to they can code a game like SHIV with a fair portion lesser ressource needs.....

Default 1 bug i cant get rid of

Exitting the game generally cause an abnormal termination no matter if and what other mods are added or what settings of the game im using. So far i doesnt have any negative side effect on launching/playing. So no biggy but someone might found a fix for it to share.

specs are:

Vista 64bit
AMD 5200+
NVidia 8800gtx
6 GB RAM

I´m sorry, but there is no Bismarck in construction in WHV neither a FW190

That`s a problem of sh3 somehow and most likely will happen if you do no patrol and exit the game or if you exit too fast.
I don´t think there´s a fix for it.
