I make a simple mission with just my sub and an enemy oil tanker. both ships show up in the editor and I validate it it comes up ok I go to my sh4 game start it go to quick missions and its there click on it. it starts but only my sub is in the game. can anyone tell me how to get the tanker to show up? thx.

There could be a number of different reasons why the tanker is not visible in your mission. Did you make sure your starting times match for the tanker with what you set for the mission, also your sub needs to match that also. Did you set any waypoints, give the tanker a certain speed. How far away from the tanker (distance) did you set your submarine. Just out of curiosity, what version of SH4 or supermod are you trying to build this mission.

Default sh4 mission editor

I Have 1.5 for a version, and yes I did all the things the video showed me to do. my mission validates no errors. at least 1000 meters waypoint. all ships start in 1942. any other clues as to why I don't see and enemies?

Without taking a look at the mission it's really hard to tell. If you'd like me to do so, contact me via PM and we can make arrangements to do that. I'd be more that happy to help, if that is what you want.

cdsubron7 is the best creator of Single Missions I've played, larrygene. I'd take him up on it. He'll probably tell you to put a destroyer or two in it though... maybe even airplanes... devious

For me, getting the exact date and exact time are probably my two biggest mistakes. I've thought I was OK with mine, and the "Validate" won't flag anything about it. But I've had like Dec 12, 1942 0800 hours in the mission parameters, Dec 12, 1942 0900 hours in the "target" ship's properties, and Dec 12, 1943 at 0800 hours in my sub's properties. Two mistakes, and the "validate" doesn't care... Same way with distance. I'll think I'm placing stuff almost too close together, then I can't find a thing when I run it. Go back in and look at it in the editor, and I've put us 80 nautical miles apart... Pay attention to that distance "gauge" in the lower left of the ME screen. You could always do what I do though, and that's make the occasional mission, just to keep being able to do it, but mostly play something cdsubron7 puts out, and then hopefully learn from the way he does it. Me, I'm just a slow learner...

I found your tanker for you, larrygene.

Basically what the problem was, the distance you had between the sub and the tanker was to great. I took the liberty of shortening that up for you. I'll return the mission to you in the morning.

BTW, interesting title for a mission.

Uh oh... he's thinking... thinking cap is on, and he's gonna "elaborate", shall we say?...

Let it bloom, cdsubron7, let it BLOOM! I'm sure it'll be another great one from the wizard.

Not this time, this is larrygene's mission. I just corrected a few errors in his construction of the mission, nothing more.
