is it me, or does Veteran AI put up a good challenge when dogfighting, the 109 can stick on my six for quite a while, and when trying to shoot the AI he is pretty much doing everything it can to avoid beeing hit. rolling over-dive-swing around, turn every couple of seconds.

but indeed we had some great sorties, too bad the weather sucked.

good to see ur graphics improved, but seems that the clouds really hurt your performance in rainy weather.

Yeh, the veteran AI gives a nice challenge. Tho, I havent had any big fights with them yet on the campaign. We better get more planes soon, the 4 vs 4 fights are booooooring.

Currently running 50+ aircrafts in the campaign

:hmm: Am I able to change the amount of plane with the DCG Setup wizard without harming our current campaign?

or is it adviced for a fresh start?
perhaps I think I keep the 50+ Aircraft Campaign for me and kratos to enjoy, really for the both of us we are kept busy enough.
and start a 100+ Aircraft Campaign of Tobruk for 3 or more players.

the only thing that bugs me on Veteran AI, are the rear gunners on the Stuka & BF110, they shoot too perfect to be anywhere near called realistic.
the HE111 arent that bad as long you dont do a foolish angle of aproach.. and zoom them quikly nailing their wings.

Aye they did but me has hatched a plan... gonna borrow another stick of 512mb ram from the other pc, and make this one up to 2gig and see if that makes any difference :hmm: . Oh and Dowly if we flying tonight ...CHASE FARKIN HUNTER for a change :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Another silly example of dcg :rotfl:
Was suppose to be the tobruk43 sands of time, gawd knows what map it started on. When the game started some stoopid plane blew up right in front of me. No runways, planes taking off in every other direction, and crashing into each other, the plane in the clip in the distance looked like Richard Hammond from top gear was piloting this sucka :rotfl:

Here's WIP of the new fire effect for the aflaming planes. The quality is crappy, but you should get an idea of how it looks in game. The flame is the one that is used in rockets.

Lol, seeing how all this could have been done by simply copy & pasting some lines from the rocket flame's files to the plane fire file, I dont think so. Lazy bstards.

All of the effect mods I've done with the exception of new debris (copied from BoBII) are done by simply copy & pasting and changing the values.

I'll post shots/vids of the new smoke when I get it done. I prolly need to start it all over, I just figured that the cloud textures might look pretty darn good if used as smoke, just a simple color change from white to black. :hmm:

Haha! :rotfl: The saying "Lose sight, lose fight" especially applies to BoBII. The AI has a tendency to get reaaally pissed when you are on their tail and if you for example run out of ammo and break off, you can be sure to find the enemy on your tail very quickly.

Well, I didn't see much of a relevant difference (I've never played BoBII myself and have only this video for comparison). The AI in BoB made some critical mistakes during the turnfights and could have been shot down on several occasions. So, except from some different maneuvers I don't see the big advantage of the BoB AI.:hmm:

You said it yourself. The AI makes mistakes in BoBII, they panic, stall, spin, misjudge their altitude and crash. And add to that the dozens of different tactics and combat maneuvers the AI can perform (Immelmanns, BF110 Luftberry's and the list is growing when 2.08 is released). The AI doesnt unload it's magazines when in bad firing position (ala IL2) nor does it pull 100G turns.

The best there is and no other is even close.
