69 days (MAR 18 40 - MAY 25 40) in a IXB type U-123, started in Wilhelmshaven. Sent to EJ66, where I only met 1 neutral coastal vessel, and on my way back (to Cadiz because of low fuel) I stopped at Western entrance to Gibraltar - sunk 18 ships in 24 days there. It was one of very few patrols ended with undamaged hull.

From my SH3 Commander Personnel file:
Patrol results
Crew losses: 0
Ships sunk: 20
Aircraft destroyed: 0
Patrol tonage: 230941 tons

It was GXW 1.03 almost a year ago, and I picked only the largest targets when W of Gibraltar.

Even though I decided to shelf SH3, the longest patrol I did in SH3 was 365 days In SH4 30 days.

I once recorded an 85-day patrol in a VIIb. Totally unrealistic, and I have no idea how it happened, but when I went back and counted again, there it was. Also, it was early war, so no refueling or anything like that.

Only happened once.

85 days in my trusty Type IX. 42 days to my patrol area off South African cape, then re-fuel at milch cow before the long voyage home which took another 43 days. Bagged 5 merchants worth 33.000 tons.
