SHO Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising and Red River

Are these similar to ArmA? Is the gameplay the same?

Was wondering because i think a console version of ArmA would be good.

DR & RR are poor console versions based on ArmA engine code. Both Xbox and PS3 versions have specific issues. ArmA is superior to both of these titles. If you absolutely have to, then either game on the 360 would be the better choice.

Avoid the PS3 version AT ALL COSTS.
Also, don't expect the MP aspect of each game to be populated.

I thought that there was a un-nerfed version of Operation Flashpoint available for PC I may be remembering wrong though.

To be blunt. You're never going to find a sim on console, be it tank, infantry, aircraft or naval sim, that has the complexity, or even close to the complexity that its parent version on PC has. They might brand it saying "from the makers of ArmA" or "with same code as ArmA". It'll still be crap.

^That statement is true.

Although, they did make a good effort with the new Steel Battalion game I hear.
It just has a minor, yet fatal flaw: the Kinect.

Angry Joe tries the demo

His review of the full game

I just watched the E3 trailer for Dragon Rising. My local gamestop has it real cheap. Like 10 bucks. I think i'll pick it up and see how i like it.
