THOUGH CONVOY ATTACK WAS UNSUCCESSFUL I HAD TO SMILE A LITTLE. ITS BEEN A SHORT TIME SINCE OUR LAST WAR WITH ENGLAND. THE ATTITUDE OF DISBELIEF OF WAR FROM MY CREW IS MORE THAN LIKELY SHARED BY THE TOMMYS. MY PRESENCE IN THAT CONVOY HAD TO HAVE HAD THEIR HEARTS RACING, AND LET THEM KNOW THAT THIS ISN'T A GAME... ITS REAL. HEADING SW FOR PATROL GRID. EXPECTED RENDEVOUS AT 0600 HRS TOMORROW. 05SEP39 1300 HRS DAMNED WEATHER.... FROM BDU: With six escorts you may have set a beacon and waited to form a wolf pack.
