Some shots I took of the Joseph Conrad at Mystic Seaport.

...and one more showing the Charles W Morgan under restoration.

JORDAN RIVER PARKWAY

When the Mormons came to Utah back in 1847 they considered it to be the new Zion. When they found a river running from Utah Lake to the Great Salt Lake of course they called it the Jordan. It's a smallish river that runs northward 40 miles or so. It runs under the street about a block from my apartment, and there is a lovely bike and pedestrian path alongside it. Today I took a three-mile walk down one side and back up the other, just to show everybody what it's like.

This is my place seen from the entrance to the park.

The same shot, except at full zoom.

Entrance to the park.

Trail.

River.

Cool little bike park.

First bridge.

Didn't cross the bridge. Stayed on the right-side path.

Second Bridge.

Another view of the river.

Third bridge.

Kids' park at the end of the line.

Third bridge from the other direction.

Second bridge on the return trip.

All the park benches have 2002 Salt Lake Olympics commemorative signs.

Second bridge again.

The path on the left side of the river is unpaved.

Further along.

First bridge, from the other side.

Long-dead tree.

Last glimpse of the river.

Back home.

NORTHBOUND

Today I took another walk, this time turning left and heading north along the trail. This is looking down from the bridge that carries the street over the river.

Looking south across the street at the entrance I took yesterday.

Entrance to the northbound trail.

Looking back at the bridge.

Looking back from further up the trail.

Along the way.

A little further along.

The river.

Further still.

Looking across the river at the golf course.

Path through the shade.

He just landed there and posed.

Another guy who asked me to take his picture.

Around the next bend...

A warning sign.

Getting near the end.

Some local wildlife.

End of the trail.

Looking back up the river.

And down the other way.

You are here.

And a shot of the golf course.

The walk home was down a major street, so I didn't take any shots of the traffic or construction, or of the 7-11. I figure everybody knows what those things look like.

Me, on a hill overlooking the eastern part of Stockholm, called Djurgården. One can see the town's amusement park Gröna Lund in the background!

And here is the photographer!
