unable to turn on surface radar

SO..i'm coming in from a patrol in my trusty Salmon class, and i turn off my surface radar during the last 50nm or so, so the friendly traffic doesn't interfere with my TC. That was the last i saw of my surface radar EVEN THOUGH it's equipped in the boat. 2 patrols later and still no SJ radar, it's in there, it's just not working, nor, am i able to turn it on with either the switch at the station or the button in the radar section in the bottom GUI. I've searched and can't find anything on this topic ( i can find "i can't turn it off" threads but not this). i've turned it off like this before with the very same mods i'm using now (SCAF 1.5, max optics, PE4_final, and a skin) anyone know of a fix?

try a save game and then reload, that will usually unsticks things that freeze or stop working.

Um...SD radar is automatic. I don't think you can turn it on (or off).
Are you meaning SJ radar? Surface radar is SJ radar i thought. SD was for aircraft...

I found a solution, i doubt this is the only solution but it worked. I had to back track a bit to the patrol where i had the SJ radar still working onthe salmon. This was a pain in the ass because i tend not to save until i have to leave the comp for something. So i go back 2 patrols and finish the patrol again (sinking a BB this time so that was a bonus) but, this time i made sure to leave the SJ radar ON when i went into port. next patrol, i had it again

. I guess for others who might be reading this, save ur game right before you get into port, and leave ur radar on to avoid this problem.

Oh crap this is evil, it did it again, except this time i KNOW what it is. When the Salmon gets a conning tower upgrade i lose the SJ radar. when i back tracked the last time, i ended up not getting the in-port modification to the conning tower. now i'm back to square one.

. Webster i tried the save and reload, it didn't work. will trying unloading the few mods i have and see if that does the trick. edit: nope it didn't do the trick, i have no idea what to do at this point.

Try leaving the port and as soon as anchor icon disappears return to base and see if that works???? Don't know if it will but it's worth a try.

Glad it helped.

Make sure to apply that to the Porpoise and Sargo as well because all three of those boats seem to have the same issue. Like i said, i'm not sure why it works, but after several campaigns i have not had that problem again after changing that one thing in the file.
