Default Just got Armored Fist 3

I really need some help.

I got the game from Amazon.com so it didnt come with a manual, and there arent really any tutorial missions.

Does anyone have a good tutorial that can teach me the ropes? I dont have a joystick so I've been trying to gun with my W,S,D,A keys but that is nearly impossible.

In addition, I havent learned how to track objects and work solely from the commander's position.

In short, I've been doing everything manually :-(

Any help is appreciated.

-Mike

Welcome!

I do not get the connection between "sent by amazon" and "no manual". I can hardly imagine they open the boxes, get the manuals out and send only the box and CD while keeping the manuals.

Can't help you on your question, sorry. Have you tried Google?

I bought it used off Amazon :-/

It was only $4.

When I google, I just get pages of 'demo download' sites.

It's a new forum, and the audience is somewhat specialised, admitted. On the other hand, AF3 is very old stuff, and was somewhat avoided by hardcore-simulationists. I googled the web and did find not much remarks on AF3.

I'm sorry for you. Maybe considering to join something more actual? The upcoming Panzer Elite? Or Steel Beasts Pro, release just days away?

Sorry, but that's all help we can offer.

I think im slowly learning why....

Either I'm an idiot or you cant lase objects, there's no range finder, and you cant order the gunner to fire on targets.

Me no likey

However, be advised that the sim is old and it's graphics were seriously outdated even at it's original release date. The new version, Steel Beasts Pro, is about to be released these days, looks better, has more details, is superior. But it has some price. Check the sticky at the top of the page, watch the movies that are linked there. especially the two long ones give you an impression of what to expect - hardcore realism.

Check the review at tanksim.com, maybe there is some info on the laser. etc there. It has been a while since I played AF3 (6 years) but it was fun.

I have SB 1. I'm not one to nitpick graphics; A good game is a good game, but I really cant get into it because the graphics are so poor and take away from the gameplay.

The previews for SB Pro SE look amazing. Its unfortunate that I'm leaving for Officer Candidate School in 10 days, or I would've picked it up. At this point cost doesnt mean a thing. There are too many horrible games polluting the shelves.

Well, when I saw the second quote, I figured you would appreciate something more than AF3.....and you do!!

Good luck at OCS and drop in at SB.com when you get back!

By they way....did you ever join us for a game or two of MP? It is very hard NOT to get into it when you are playing against humans in SB1...graphics or no graphics... :-)
