I had occasion to visit the Fulton class Sub Tender based at Mios Woendi on 06/21/1944 to refuel and rearm. As I was pulling away from the along-side position, I used my binoculars to scan the crew manning the tender and noticed that they are all the same civilian types I've seen on Japanese merchants that were about to take the deep six! Now I'm not one to profile, but it does seem unusual for a submarine tender to be crewed exclusively by Japanese (or at least Oriental) personnel. Something for the brass to check into, I'd think!
I must say I am really enjoying this first career under FOTARS v0.52. And there was a nice touch awaiting us at Midway in July. We were offered (and accepted) the new Twin 40mm anti-air guns! Love it, and can't wait to challenge one of those magical Judy's with X-Ray vision that can sink you at 200 feet on a very dark night. Thanks again for the hard work, sailors.
