Default International Maritim Museum - Hamburg

Some time ago I visited the new International Maritime Museum in Hamburg (Germany). http://www.internationales-maritimes-museum.de/

The exhibition opened last year and shows the largest private collection of marine collectables on 10 floors.

Here are some pictures:

Entrance with midget submarine (currently in restoration)

One floor only shows ship models (the world largest private collection of ship models)

Another floor is only submarine warfare

KM grid, Enigma and radio receiver of a submarine who travels from Wilhelmshaven to Philadelphia

German Torpedo Engine and Depthcharges

Dreadnought and Pre-Dreadnought models

Santa Maria model in gold

WWI model in silver

Amber models

Ivory models

Bone model

Shell from Bismarck

Skull alleged to have belonged to Klaus Störtebeker (German Pirate), found in 1878

When I have time, I will once again go there and take my time to browse through the numerous documents and plans of WWI ships. This requires a prior application, since the archives are not publicly available.
