. I had lost faith in playing again that oldie in my new computer. I was having exactly the same weird problem with the sky textures in a NVIDIA Geforce 8500GT, but hese BETA version seems to have fixed it, after three failed attempts with official drivers. I didn't test it thoroughly, but a quick check showed a clear blue sky over my ships
