Wouldn't be a good idea to update/rewrite your first post with that new information? Because as of right now information seems to be a bit contradictory!

And if I can make another suggestion, why not clear up a little the whole procedure into an updated step by step list?

There is so much information scattered (what to download, what to install, but more especially what, how and when to tweak some files settings, etc). If you dont take the time to really read all the first messages, but also the bit and pieces of valuable information that are burried within the entire discussion it's easy to forget one critical step and find yourself into dangerous waters and potentially unstable mod-playing experience without even undertanding why this is happening.

I'm not saying that the information or the first messages of this thread is uncomprehensible, but simply could be cleared up/shortened a little in one single step by step list, into one clear post, that would be also easier to maintain/keep updated...

For example :
1- Install the game
2- Patch the game [link]
3- Download the Sober mod list [link] (if I can make a suggestion here, you could also add a version number to your list file, or at least you zipped file)
4- Download the mod enabler [link] + install instructions and loading list
5- Download the full updated mods archive [link] or
6- Download individual mod from this list + warning about how to install the mods (the updated list+links, and if I may suggest, you could shorten your first post by simply merging the "Mod list correct order" paragraph with the "Mod links list" paragraph. This way, only one list would be needed to keep updated)

Now this is where I find that things should be cleared out into step by step instructions. The follwing list of what I'm thinking off at least is NOT IN A CORRECT ORDER.

- Start a career/campaign (how and when if applicable) + relevant infos
- Modifying options (how and when if applicable) your main.cfg file + relevant infos
- Modifying options (how and when if applicable) with OptionsFileEditorViewer + relevant infos.
- Deleting info about the Visual C++ 2008 (how and when if applicable)
- Modifying options for Setting scope resolution (how and when if applicable)
- Modifying options for TDW SH5 Patcher (how and when if applicable) + relevant infos
-Modifying options for Realnavigation (how and when if applicable) + relevant infos
- Offline play recommendation
- Modifying in-game graphic and realism options (how and when if applicable) + relevant infos
Modifying contact.cfg options (how and when if applicable) + relevant infos
- Various additionnal information (Videocard settings, in-game saving, special tools, etc) and FAQs (how to disable this, what's causing that, etc)

Well, that's all I can think of right now. Having a clear, well written, step-by-step instruction in one post would certainly help everyone. This way, installation/option tweaking errors would definitively be less frequent, so bugs and CTDs would be easier to pinpoint and troubleshoot.

I just want you to know that I appreciate all the effort from the modding community here and I'm not nitpicking here, I just want every Subsim players, newbies or not, to be quickly able to mod the game following your mod list and procedure!
