Does anyone know sources that wouldn't cost an arm, a leg and a couple of toes from the other foot that might get me on track?
I can't give you the exact 1 and 0s behind it but, by 1968, the remaining GUPPYs had all been fitted with BQR-2 / BQS-4 combination, both of them mounted in the "chin" position down below the torpedo tubes. Earlier they had a few different active sets (BQS-2 to name one), and some retained BQR-3 (which was basically war-time JT hand cranked sonar with a cover to cut-down on flow noise / let it operate at a faster speed) for a while.
