Click F4 for attack periscope and the letter o for observation scope and look out for the mermaids.
Don't you have a card like this?
Use either your mouse or the arrow keys for left/right/up/down for Periscope view movement.
Durring game click on F1 for all controls.
U.S. Subs never had snorkels but I believe the German U-Boat Add-On has.
