I'm not sure what distance button you're talking about. There's a data button that allows you to select a contact and enter exact data (including distance) rather than plotting or dragging the contact around.
I'm going out of town for a few days and won't be able to respond back after this evening. I'll try to post an example later that shows exactly how to use two points (with times) to determine target speed.
