And after some tweaking around, pulling of my hair, uninstalling, reinstalling, compatibility checks, run as admin checks and again installing, uninstalling... Ouch...
I actually managed to find the special installation guide for SH3 here on SubSim
And now everything works! I am going on patrol once again!
