Yes, Eugene Fluckey is an exception and probably my favorite submarine commander. I can visualize him ordering the colors raised so the fishing junks on picket duty would know who is coming - and their likely fate! I would like that key command very much as well now that you reminded me of that.
I try every
rare opportunity I can to use his method of night surface attack on a convoy. It is not so easy in SH4 as in the old SHCE where the escorts were at the four corners with maybe one leading and one trailing.
