U-505
It was the Americans that painted the U-505 black and put the large U-505 in white on the conning tower. The museum later went to great lengths to repaint the boat with it's original color scheme.
Additionally I have never seen a photo of the U-505 with a deck configuration like that, either during or after the war. Ditto with the net cutter.
