Yeah, because he is using protractors to draw the bearing lines, he has to point one leg to his course. The angle shown in the corner is always a positive number. So for port/left bearings he has to resort to calculate the remainder of the sonar bearing to 360. 360 degrees minus the bearing.

I just watched his SH5 hydrohunt tutorial ( ) where he has only starbord side targets. There he never does this subtraction. As it would basically be bearing-0. Which is trivial.
