The auxiliary subchaser isn't plagued that way. Last time I plugged one of them it split in two and flew 100 feet in the air, both halves sinking independently after they landed in the water. Most impressive!
Wish I had known about this an hour ago. Tagged a subchaser with a cutie and didn't stay around to watch him sink since I didn't care about the piddley amount of tonnage anyway. I would have experimented on him had I known. Great screenies!
Note: why in all my months of playing SH4 have I never seen an escort blow up his own tail? That's strange.
