To clarify: i own the Steamversion of the game. And the exe clearly reads 1.2.0.

What is the case here is that although the steamversion is patched to 1.2.0, its still a different exe than the original Ubisoft-Version 1.2.0. And this different exe is what causes the problems. Because you have to manually extract the exe out of the patch, which is not a totally foolproof workaround. I guess its got to do with the steamoverlay and maybe a different DRM-management.
