With TMO the enemy has great visuals from long range and can shoot from 10,000 yards if they see you. The failure, when he increased enemy visual and shooting range in later versions of TMO, he didn't adjust the sub visuals to be fair. You in fact can adjust your subs crew visuals, I did it to where they could see ships on the horizon. The only failure was this, because of TMO's auto ID, you could lock on and ID ships you couldn't make out, cept a funnel and smoke.
Been forever since I've played and messed with files, but I may have what settings I adjusted. Seems it was the Sub AI files in Library...
