In German we call states that are run by corruption "Bananenrepubliken" banana republics. Our current government has just lowered the tax on hotel stays from 19 to 7 %....after receiving a 1.1 million € donation from a big hotelier....
In other words if you have money you can buy laws in our parliament.

The health insurance system is about to be reformed and the insurance companies have much to gain or to lose so who was appointed to work out a new system? Right someone from one of the private health insurance companies (in Germany we have medicare from the state or if you earn enough from private businesses). Who do you think will benefit from that. The normal guys in the state medicare or the rich ones in the private business?

A guy here who is in charge of testing new medicine whether it is better than the previous version and who decides what the state controlled health care is paying for and for what it doesn't got fired (he had many enemies in the pharmaceutical business because he refused to force the public healthcare to pay for more expansive new medicine that didn't work any better than the older stuff). Now guess with who he will be replaced...so far they didn't dare to nominate anyone but when the time comes you bet it will be a business friendly guy and then our healthcare is done for!)

Our current government is the most corrupt one I have ever encountered in this country in my life time! It's disgusting! But that is what you get when you vote for hard core capitalists.
If you belief that the market has to please demands then you are fine with selling laws to everyone who can pay the price.
