The USN is VERY shortsighted in this area of building a sense of history into our citizens. CV-6 would practically be a shrine, I would literally weep if I set foot aboard. Weep for what is lost, weep because of what has been permitted to replace it. ...and I'm not even talking about hulls named for politicians, not that that's a great idea either.
