Although the
USS Brooklyn indeed did not serve in the Pacific several of her sisters did, seeing quite a bit of action, so I think she was included as a generic US CL type.
Incidently the
General Belgrano was the ex
USS Phoenix, a Brooklyn class ship, and IIRC was at Pearl Harbour on 7th December 1941.
