Haven't found that setting anywhere... Are you talking about Options > Graphic settings > Texture Quality High ?
As you can see, mine isn't checked... And if THIS is the cause of the problem, then maybe you should state in your README about this (I'm not complaining, it's just for the future and to make it more userfriendly)
