italian sub
The problem was that much modern class of italian sub, the 600 serie (sub classes: argonauta, adua, sirena, acciaio, perla, etc) was coastal-medium range sub, of medium size, not good for atlantic. and in mediterranean, was not like atlantic. was a trap. with few target, etc etc but also there, something was sink. not too. but some yes. (some british cruiser, and other).
The ocean going sub, the most succesful at least, was of 35-36 building, but other was much modern (like the marcello class of 38, and the brin class of 38-39, and also other of 40-41 like the ammiragli class).
