Ha, great idea and welcome to SUBSIM.
We had something exactly like this around ~2001 - 2003 with the WolfPack League (WPL) where the scores were entered by a Battle Reporter (BR) who took special training and participated in the online battle between the Silent Hunter 2 and Destroyer Command players. As far as I know though, none of this data was saved from the glory days, but I do remember over 10,000 registered users at one point!
