Poke around in the German budget simulator market and you might be surprised what you will find.

The FS series has been ok all in all, and fairly compelling. I wish it had more depth and accuracy, but what can you do.

Anyhow, not to knock on FS-UK (they have a lot of their own mods, many which are really good) but the place to find mods would be http://www.modhoster.com/

As for the game, I am really disappointed with Giants this time around.
The game is a glitchy mess, especially with logging. Want an exercise that will have you screaming at your screen, try woodchipping. Then there are the prices. Giants still hasn't added any value to baling, or wood chipping. You don't get any extra money for the extra expense (fuel and equipment costs) and effort. A lot of the mods they have implemented in game have also been poorly done, and their QA is terrible. Then there are the horrid physics (which admittedly are somewhat better than 2011) where the vehicles all slow down to a crawl on hills, regardless of how much power they have, or where driving is sometimes like being on a skating rink (geez I hope MR will become available for this one). Also you can use your Piqup as a tractor with a PTO shaft (even though it does not have one), and use it to power any kind of equipment you want. The big tractors cannot tow small equipment, and vice versa. The smaller log forks are also stupidly designed (You can't pick up small logs with it as the upper tine is too short, and you can't get the lower tines under, plus you have to switch between your tractor/telehandler and the damn fork to control opening and closing the fork).

Also the game is missing a lot of equipment (there was supposed to be 220 items not 100 which they quietly changed), and there are obvious gaps which I guarantee will be filled with DLC (Like where are the big seeders, or the larger grass handling equipment).

I could go on and on, the game is a litany of stupid design decisions, glitches, bugs, and so on. But there are some good things too. I like some of the new UI. Mainly the store UI, with its multiple equipment types, and ease of select-ability, though I hate the confirmation screen, and buying large quantities of anything (especially animals). The graphics are nicer. I love that i can cut down all the trees (even if some are really buggy), and get rid of all the obnoxious trees Giants loves to put at the corner of fields for your AI driven combines and tractors to climb. Dirty tractors is ok, but could have been implemented better (rain cleans your tractor, and you can't easily change the dirt texture or appearance, as it is not a separate skin). I like how they did the tire tracks, and they improved on the woodcutting aspect over the Forest mod immensely (shame everything else is so glitchy, in particular with the woodchipper). It would have been nice if they had improved the look of the crops, and/or added some new ones. Now at least things tend to stay on top of flat beds with out sliding off, or flying around. You also can't do the crazy jumps any more, and can actually climb up curbs without getting stuck or rebounding off (I HATE curbs in the prior games).

So, I dunno if it is worth a purchase now. Part of me feels it would be better to wait for the gold version with all the mods (something I tend to do now with most games, as I am sick and tired of getting screwed over by DLC pricing). Also once some of the serious mods get rolling the game should get pretty good, but that is at least a year off.
