Also, you can use Options File Editor to lower TC settings from 128 to 16 for example (Time compression tab)...

He said he used Tc of x8 and x16. So the TWoS setting should stop TC to x1 by default while spoting an enemy plane, so why its necessary to change values in main.cfg!?
