Thank you, it worked! I think it was the amd card settings, some of them had changed (probably an update set it up to defaults).
Started the campaign, reported the task force and the two enemy ships got pummeled by 3 ship force and aircraft, but Bdu was none too happy that I just sat and watched, I got scolded! Then proceeded to sink a merchant, it took four torps, one was a dud, 2 missed and finally the last one was a hit. It's 9/2 at night and still patrolling the area, though I received a message late 9/1 that my new port is Kiel, I should head over there soon...
