I would use the Deltaglider IV developped by dansteph.
Its an awesome ship to learn to get into orbit andp dock, and of course to re-entry.
It has an autopilot, checklist procedures for take-off, docking, re-entry etc.. It als has enviromental sensors. Believe me, its the most complete ship in the orbiter universe.
