Looking at the commissioning dates for the subs there were only 8 Type VIIB's commissioned pre Sept 1939 (U-45 through U-53 except U-50). I'll do the VIIA's as well as they looked similar enough. When the Type II and IX turms are ready I'll take a look at the boats that were in commission pre-war.
I should be able to release a VIIB pack of pre-war numbered turms this weekend if I get time. I won;t do any VIIC's (U-69 and up),as none were in commission at the outbreak of hositilities and therefore would not have carried a number on the tower between their launch and commissioning, unless I can find some photos that prove otherwise. From what I can tell these would have only had their DAK emblems which were the ID painted on after launch by the manufacturer and worn until commissioning.
