With towed arrays always rule out that is isn't a mirror contact. Make a turn and verify if doesn't shift by twice of the turn angle. Or if you have enough free trackers and lack of time, mark the signal on the mirror side of the towed array also. The TMA autocrew knows which is a fake. Second, really faint contact may indeed require multiple lucky draws pressing the track button. And on the slower time frame views it might not yet detect anything even if it is a true signal. It's simply too faint to trigger the detection level.
