A lot of media here see Carillion as a foretaste of brexit, now i see the english Guardian also does:
https://www.theguardian.com/business...nstruction-hs2
“What’s happening with Carillion yet again shows the perils of allowing privatisation to run rampant in our schools, our hospitals and our prisons.”
Same as in Germany, privatization is always regarded as
the solution for all problems by "conservative" (lmao) politicians, but it is not. Here, all transportation systems and infrastructure, trains, rails, electricity, powerplants, information exchange has initially all been built and run by Germany,
initially paid for by german taxpayers.
Now amost all has been privatized, with a lot of services now being stalled, abandoned or the companies just taking the money and then quitting. With catastrophic results to rails infrastructue, powerlines and so forth. Lack of maintenance everywhere. While the government has sold all its "silverware" to companies, the latter just take all and have a good laugh. It is all about disappropriating people.
Losses are socialised, profits are privatised.
On topic again: Will the english government now take back all those contracts and run the services by government action again? I cannot say i expect that, from the Tories
