The game works fine except the crew configuration only has the rank of Leutnant z. S. for officers, Stabsbootsmann for Petty officers and Mastrosenobergefreiter for Seamen.

I have tried taking the Realistic Crew file from SH3 Commander and adding it as a mod to the games MOD file and the enabling it with the Jones Enabler. No change.

I used to get a good varied crew configuration when I was using the NYGM Hardcore mod but I had a hard time running it with my old 4G memory computer.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to correct this problem?
Do not post the same question on several threads.

The developers of GWX was very picki about realism in this mod. They have done things what was possible in SH3 by that days.
So why do you think that the Ranks are not realistic?

No, i am not interested of _any_ Realism-discussion here, but probably anyone else is.

And if we start discussing NYGM-things in a GWX-thread we both may be Keelhouled some day.

Please read:
SH3 Commander v3.2 Documentation "SH3CUG.pdf" last Page 30. "rank bump"
SH3 Commander v3.2 Documentation "Tips.txt" Line 73. "rank bumping"

www.uboatarchive.net has lots of "Interrogation Reports" where Ranks of crewmens can be found.
I have not the feeling that the ranks in SH3 is that far from the History.

For short, i see no problem here.
The game is made to begin with low level, and not with high level ranks. These comes over time if you succeed.

The crew files can be found in SH3-Cfg-directory called crew_config_*.cfg. Try create your own Mod.
