Okay guys, just to pass along an hour's work for you. I bought a copy of the game off amazon for 18 bucks, installed, and ran fine, except no sound effects. Messed with every setting, reinstalled, tried downloading new DLLs, etc etc. Nothing worked. I came across a website (I thope it works...

http://www.old-games.ru/forum/archiv...p/t-29184.html ) that directed me to links of the original sound files. I'm not sure if the one that came with the game had all the right sounds or not...
Anyhow, if you download the program from the second link above ( it's called scsoundedit.exe) and use it to open the sfx.agg file, then unzip those files into the Sfx folder, all the sound effects started working! However, if your sounds still dont work after that, you will have to download the file from the first link, overwrite your Sfx.agg file with the downloaded one, then unzip all the files using the scsoundedit program. Finally I can hear whats going on!
