I've considered buying a disk version, but from what I've read I understand that Win8 might be a problem. Buying another version of the game I can live with, having to buy another PC and running it with XP just so that I can play one game I can not.  |
First, this thread, if not actually a necro, is a bit long in the tooth. Might catch more response on a new thread.
Second, the Steam version will work with any SH3 mods AFAIK. But it requires a different procedure than the publisher's version, which is what everybody else sells. Desertstriker has a couple of tutorials describing what you have to do.
