Hi mate,

I am currently remodeling the damage effect in U-BOAT_HAHD and it is possible to have the hole in the hull but in our mod it will be better done because it include hull thickness so it look a lot better then SH4 this way.

There is no real 3d damage effect in Sh4 it is only a trick done with alpha map instead of having a black spot you use transparency to see true the hull.

Not only the hull damage is redone in our mod almost every possible aspect of FX and damage like new animated texture for shell hitting the water and it look 50 time better then SH4 and SH5 soon there will be a video showing all this.
