I just reclaimed my old ID and, FWIW, I also used to play AH's Submarine (still have it, I'm sure along with all their other games I owned: Luftwaffe, 1776, etc...).


Turned based games can be pretty interesting even today (Master of Orion), and computer variants...where the action stops and each player makes his moves before the action restarts (like Battlefront's "Combat Mission" series) throw in a different twist to the turn based idea as well.


So, since you go back that far (as I do), there was another, less successful company who were also in the board game business about the same time as Avalon Hill, but I'm struggling with my memory: SSG? SS_ something....



Ah. I'm probably just thinking of SPI.
