Don't forget there are patches to both. Small Patch for TMO 2.5 and RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1.
They are great starter mega mods. TMO makes a lot of changes to graphics and game play. The Japanese AI is changed to the highest level for everything, ships zig-zag more, the US boats are changed to close but not quite to historical accuracy.
RSRDC is actually a secondary mega mod. It changes the Japanese traffic patterns and AI to as close to historical accuracy as the game allows.
Real Fleet Boats is another starter mega-mod. It's not compatable with TMO. It changes the boat mechanics as close to historical accuracy as the game allows.
Optical Targeting Correction is a secondary mega mod that corrects errors in the optics that is inherent in the stock game. It has many other changes also.
Traveller's Mod is another secondary mega mod that makes changes in Japanese aircraft behavior, boat sinking behavior, damage model.
Operation Monsun is a mod that adds a German Atlantic campaign. It's not compatable with the other mods.
There is also a long list of smaller mods that do various things.
Before adding the mods, be sure to read the documentation that comes with each one, and with the secondary mods, make sure you add the correct one for the started mod.
