I'd say XP. Being older game, you never know what kind of complications there might be.

Make sure the game is patched to 4.08m, go to google and search for All Aircraft Arcade, go to the forums and download the unified installer. That's an all-in-one mod package that we use. Install it and at some point it asks what version you want to use, select the 4.09b1 modded or 4.09b1 modded 6DOF if you have an TrackIR. And then you're ready to play.
