Traversing the Kiel Canal one final time on the way to sea...brings up fond memories of images like this, only off the US Eastern Seaboard.



During Operation Hartmut, U-50 runs across one of the Hipper-class cruisers and her escorts in the North Sea. (Hipper at the head of the column.)



More Hartmut: U-50 finds herself a worthy prize.



Never again will I make a Royal Navy recruitment poster.



These would be a template for a Kriegsmarine poster, though, I daresay.
